Black Forest, Strasbourg & EuropaPark

This tour to the beautiful wooden mountain region of the Black Forest in southwest Germany is suitable for school groups across many subjects and in particular German Language students. There are many historic towns in the Black Forest and this tour visits Freiburg where the group will go on an unforgettable cable car ride above the Black Forest.

Freiburg is a charming city in the Black Forest which dates back to the 12th century and has retained much of architectural style of the region. Freiburg Munster, The Martinstor (city gate) and The Historical Merchants Hall all date back to medieval times and are symbols of Freiburg.

Strasbourg, in eastern France is the official seat of the European Parliament and home to several European institutions such as the European Court of Human Rights, Council of Europe, Eurocorps, and the European Ombudsman making it a popular destination for school groups.
The centre of this historic city, the Grande Île , was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. The medieval Strasbourg cathedral towers over the city centre and the centuries old covered bridges give the city an unrivalled charm.

EuropaPark is Germany’s largest theme park and second most popular after Disneyland Paris. It has over a dozen rollercoasters and many rides which are grouped into different European countries and is sure to provide a great day out.

Example itinerary

Day 1

Morning: Departure from your school and travel to Dover for crossing into France.

Afternoon: Onward travel to Germany with afternnon check into accommodation.

Evening: Group evening meal and free time.

Day 2

Morning: After breakfast travel to Freiburg and group goes on cable car high above the Black Forest.

Afternoon:Group spend time in Freiburg and see the sights including Freiburg Münster, Merchants Hall, and more.

Evening: Evening return back to accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 3

Morning: After breakfast we depart from hotel and travel to Strasbourg. Upon arrival the group will go on a walking tour of the city. Group will see Strasbourg Cathedral, Old Town, medieval covered bridges,the Palais Rohan, Palais du Rhin and more.

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring the Strasbourg at the group’s leisure.

Evening: Departure from town centre in the early evening and travel back to accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 4

Morning: After breakfast, group travel to EuropaPark for a full day of enjoyment at one of Europe’s largest theme parks.

Afternoon: Enjoy EuroraPark and the many rides at your leisure.

Evening: Departure from EuropaPark in the evening and travel back to accommodation. Overnight stay.

Day 5

Morning: After breakfast, group check-out of accommodation and travel to Calais for Channel crosssing. Arrival back in home town or school in the evening. End of Tour.

Strasbourg Cathedral
Strasbourg & AlsaceThis Roman Catholic cathedral is generally considered to be one of the finest examples of late Gothic architecture. The cathedral for many years, from 1647 – 1874 was the tallest structure in the world.
European Parliament
Strasbourg & AlsaceThe home of the European Parliament for twelve sessions a year, each lasting about four days. Strasbourg shares the seat of this institution with Brussels. It is possible to view the Parliament and the take a tour of the facilities.
Place Kléber
Strasbourg & AlsaceThis main square in the city of Strasbourg is the heart of the city’s commercial area. Named after Jean-Baptiste Kléber, a general during the French Revolutionary Wars, this square and surrounding historic centre was classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
Palais Rohan
Strasbourg & AlsaceThis building is pne of the most important structures in the city and one of the best examples of baroque architecture anywhere in the world. It houses three of the most important museums in the city, the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
